Radio Bremen was about to renew its production system for moving images. There was concrete pressure to act, as critical system components were to be discontinued at the end of 2021 and the system would only be supported by the manufacturer for a limited time thereafter. In a first step, sommer + spohr identified the necessary measures and compared an initial catalog of requirements. In a second step, a detailed as-is inventory was carried out. It covered the topics system architecture, requirements and economic efficiency. sommer + spohr conducted 11 online workshops and evaluated existing documentation. The results describe in detail, among other things, the existing system architecture, integration, bandwidth and storage requirements, requirements in the form of user stories, and a structure for cost drivers in relation to system components. Radio Bremen now has a comprehensive set of data to plan further steps. As a result, concept blueprints were created for the implementation phase, which can significantly accelerate project progress.
